Lake Tamblingan Trek & Canoeing

The best way to experience Lake Tamblingan and the surrounding areas is to start the day with a trek through the rainforest on the hills that surround the lake. You can choose to start the trek any time in the morning but the best treks are those that go through the dark jungle at 4am and you witness the sunrise at 6am from a viewpoint in the deep rainforest.

The rainforest is also home to migratory birds, the black long tailed macaque, deers and even giant squirrels. When you are deep in the rainforest it is very peaceful and quiet. Only the sounds of the jungle cut through the silence. You will also pass next to some ancient temples and see people working in rice fields in their villages.

Once you reach the lake you will ride a traditional wooden canoe ride across the lake to the other side. This allows you to see Lake Tamblingan from a different perspective and witness the true magic of the place.

Different tour operators offer different treks of the forest ranging anywhere from 2 to 6 hours. The 2 hour trek is great for kids that get tired easily. Check these tours that take you on treks through the forest.
