It is hard to beat Indian hospitality even if I might be biased towards it. I have stayed at multiple Leela locations over the years and they are impeccable at catering to your every need. Leela Palace Udaipur was no different and provided an amazing experience.

Location

Leela Palace Udaipur is built on Lake Pichola with magnificent views of the City Palace that glistens during the night. The location is right in the middle of the old city. Once you step out you will step out you will find yourselves in the incredibly narrow streets between the houses of the locals.

The hotel provides guest with the option of arriving to the hotel by the private ferry. The dock that the hotel has a little ways away on the lake and the ride is equally fun! The dock is very well known amongst the drivers so you won’t have nay trouble finding it.

The location is incredibly satisfying and the view outside my window was gorgeous. As the sun went down, the lake turned a deep velvet purple and looked beautiful.

Rooms

The room we stayed at had a luxurious bathroom with a shower and a bath. The rooms have a bluetooth speaker though we couldn’t figure out how to connect to it and are incredibly luxurious.

You are greeted with a plate of cookies and fruits and a butler that shows you the amenities in the room. Our room had all the necessities we could need and more!

Food

The breakfast was incredibly delicious with local cuisine as well as international options to compete against any Michelin star restaurant. The buffet was huge and the chef left no stone unturned in terms of options and taste.

The breakfast included with the room so no reason to miss it at all. For lunch and dinner you can choose either the buffet or one of the options from the menu.

The hotel is renowned for their reservations at the Sheesh Mahal for dinner which is a restaurant sporting Indian cuisine overlooking the sparkling City Palace at night.

Experience

The hotel hosts dancers from the town each night before dinner and you can enjoy drinks while watching some ancient local dances that will shock you if you weren’t born an Indian.

There is also a full sized pool on site with incredible Instagram potential and two spas depending on your choice of treatment.

In My Opinion

The property is definitely one that is worth staying at if you are in Udaipur. It captures the charm of the town perfectly and the hospitality of the staff is commendable.
