Melasti Beach is a stunning stretch of coastline located on the southern tip of Bali, Indonesia. Scooter rentals can be found throughout Bali and they cost around IDR 60,000 to IDR 80,000 (approximately USD 3.50 to USD 5.50) per day. I’ve found that longer term rentals are usually cheaper. Checkout my guide to renting a scooter in Bali so you don’t get scammed like I did.

Local taxi

For those who prefer a hassle-free journey, local taxis like Gojek or Grab are readily available in Bali. These are Ubers for Bali. You can ask for a scooter or car depending on what you prefer. Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Uluwatu is during the dry season from April to October. During this time the surf is clean, beaches have no washed up trash and skies are sunny.

Swimming at Melasti Beach

Melasti Beach is great for swimming because the reef provides a barrier from the stronger waves that hit other beaches. It doesn’t have a shore break either. The waves are calm lapping waves even kids will love!

Snorkeling at Pantai Melasti

The waters around Melasti Beach are crystal clear and offer excellent snorkeling opportunities. You can rent snorkeling gear from vendors on the beach and swim a little bit out to the calmer area behind the surf break to snorkel.

Surfing at Melasti Beach

There are local surf schools and rental shops on the beach. They offer surfboards and lessons for those interested in learning. Be cautious though because Melasti Beach is not a good place to learn due to undependable waves and reef underneath. Canggu is much more suited to learn surfing.

The wave at Melasti Beach is mushy and inconsistent. This is also a fisherman’s beach so there is a lot of dead fish and fishing equipment around which attracts some reef sharks.

Melasti Beach Cliff Viewpoint

Melasti Beach Cliff View Point is a popular attraction located near Melasti Beach. The viewpoint offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Indian Ocean and the surrounding coastline. The view from the cliff point is particularly stunning during sunset, as the sun sets over the ocean, casting a warm orange glow over the horizon.

To reach the Melasti Beach Cliff View Point, you can follow a short trail from Melasti Beach that leads up to the cliff. The trail can be a bit steep and rocky in places, so be careful while climbing.

Once you reach the top of the cliff, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning view that stretches for miles along the coast. There are no facilities or amenities at the viewpoint, so it’s recommended to bring your own water and snacks if you plan to spend an extended period of time there.
