Leke Leke Waterfall in Bali is one of the last hidden gems. The waterfall is located far in the jungles of Bali and hasn’t come on the radar of many people yet so it’s still pretty awesome.
The waterfall is located in the village of Antapan which is 40 mins away from Ubud. In this blog post, I’ll be sharing everything you need to know about visiting Leke Leke Waterfall, including timings, entry fees, how to get there, nearby attractions, and more. So, let’s dive in!

How to Get to Leke Leke Waterfall
By Scooter
Renting a scooter is a popular way to get around Bali. It’s also much cheaper than any other alternative. Scooter rentals can be found throughout Bali and they cost around IDR 60,000 to IDR 80,000 (approximately USD 3.50 to USD 5.50) per day. I’ve found that longer term rentals are usually cheaper. Local taxi
For those who prefer a hassle-free journey, local taxis like Gojek or Grab are readily available in Bali. These are Ubers for Bali. You can ask for a scooter or car depending on what you prefer. Hop into one of these comfortable rides and let the driver navigate the roads while you sit back and enjoy the scenic views along the way.
Private car charter
If you prefer a more luxurious and convenient option, renting a car with a private driver is a fantastic choice. This is a great choice for people who are traveling in bigger groups. Prices for a full day rental range from IDR 800,000 to IDR 1,200,000 (approximately USD 55 – USD 85).
Directions to Leke Leke Waterfall
From Ubud
- Start from Jalan Raya Ubud, which is the main road in Ubud.
- Head north towards Tegallalang.
- Follow the road for about 10 kilometers until you reach the village of Antapan.
- Look for signs that point towards Leke Leke Waterfall.
- Turn left onto a small road that leads to the parking area.
- Once you reach the parking area, you’ll need to hike for about 15-20 minutes through lush greenery and a river stream to reach the waterfall.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Leke Leke Waterfall is during the dry season, which lasts from April to September. During this time, the weather is hot but not too much that you will die. However, keep in mind that the dry season is also the peak tourist season, so the waterfall will be more crowded.
During the rainy season which is from October to March the waterfall will be much less crowded but the flow of water is very strong. The waterfall is still beautiful during this time, but it becomes difficult to swim.
Entry Fee and Timings
The waterfall is open from 8am to 5pm every day, and the entry fee is IDR 50,000 per person.
Experience at Leke Leke Waterfall
Once you reach the parking lot, you’ll need to hike for about 15-20 minutes through the forest and across a river stream to reach the waterfall. The hike is very easy and even kids will enjoy scampering along. Just make sure to wear comfortable shoes because slippers wont cut it.
The hike to the waterfall was pretty refreshing after the heat as I could feel the water spray from far. I was very excited to see the waterfall up close.
When I reached the waterfall, I was blown away by its sheer size and power. The water cascades down from a huge cliff. It creates a spray that adds to the mystical atmosphere of the place. The pool of water below is very refreshing and cool. It’s the perfect place to rest after the hike.
The waterfall sits in a narrow gorge which is straight out of a Ghibli movie. The colors are exactly like that and it feels completely mystical with the spray and the mist. Bali jungle are truly so lush and amazing that you feel like you’ve been transported to another world.
Things to Carry
- Comfortable shoes for the hike: The hike to the waterfall involves a little bit of walked and crossing a river stream, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
- Swimwear and a towel: You should carry your bikini and towel with you in case you want to dip into the pools.
- Sunscreen and a hat: Bali sun is very intense and its very easy to get sunburn. I always carry my sunscreen with me.
- Insect repellent: The jungle is home to a lot of mosquitoes, so it’s a good idea to bring insect repellent to avoid bites.
- Water and snacks: It’s very easy to get dehydrated when you are sweating so much in Bali, so bring plenty of water with salt in it.
- Waterproof camera or phone case: Bring a waterproof camera or phone case to take pictures at the waterfall.
- Cash for the entry fee and any purchases: Bring cash to pay the entry fee of IDR 50,000 per person. You will also want to bring some extra cash if you plan on purchasing any snacks or souvenirs.
Can You Swim at Leke Leke Waterfall?
Yes, you can swim at Leke Leke Waterfall! There are small pools at the bottom of the waterfall which are perfect for wading in or relaxing in. The pools aren’t big enough to do proper swimming/diving in because they aren’t that deep.
Is Leke Leke Waterfall Appropriate For Kids?
Leke Leke Waterfall is definitely appropriate for kids as well. The hike to the waterfall is not difficult, and the pool at the bottom is shallow enough for them to play in.

Tegalallang Rice Terraces
This beautiful rice terrace offers stunning views and is a great spot for drone photography. You can also try out some of the swings and photo spots located throughout the area. Make sure to go during clear weather because it rained on us when we went!
Ulun Danu Beratan Temple
This is a unique temple floating in the middle of the lake. The temple is one of the most sacred sites for Hindus on the island. You will not find another example of such good Balinese temple architecture anywhere else.
Waterfalls Near Leke Leke Waterfall
Nungnung Waterfall
This towering waterfall is located about an hour’s drive from Ubud and requires a steep hike down a staircase to reach. It’s not as crowded as other waterfalls in Bali. Its very quiet and that is what I liked the most about it.
Gitgit is a bit farther from Leke Leke Waterfall, but it’s definitely worth the trip if you can make it. It is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Bali. You can swim in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall or you can hike up to the top for even more spectacular views.
